Three Violet Buttons

Hello! Sorry, again, for the lack of daily blogs, been busy crocheting the blanket order which is all done now so will try get back into blogging! A lovely school Mum told me she missed my blogs today so thats spurred me to start up again!

Here’s my five positives for today!

  1. Sunshine. Had a bit of sunshine this afternoon so Violet and I sat on the grass outside for a bit, she was giggling at me throwing a plastic ball up and down, I was giving her the ball to have a play but she kept giving it back to me so I’d throw it again!
  2. Plants revived! Over the weekend my husband moved some seedlings from the unfinished patch at the back of he garden into one of the borders. They were a bit droopy from being moved and we weren’t sure they’d survive but they are starting to look up!
  3. Waiting for Daddy. Millie was sat outside the front waiting for Webby to come home tonight. She always asks what time Daddy’s coming home, its lovely! I think she was excited to show him her new school bag!
  4. Percy Pigs and Colin Caterpillars. My husband came back home from work with two bags of sweets for me from Marks & Spencer, I love little gifts like that!
  5. Three Violet Buttons. Finally I’ve opened up my shop on Folksy! Have spent a fair bit of time working on a banner for it today, and listing a few items. I’ve got a couple of pars of booties in my head I want to make, need to build up my stock!three violet buttons

A bit of positivity!

Hello!! Seem to have accidentally taken a break from blogging, I do apologise! This last week has been half term break for Millie and Xander and it hasn’t been the best break! Xander was getting over his earache, I had an infected eyelid (not pretty!), Millie has had a cold which came with an itchy rash and Webby and Violet still snuffly too! I blame the lack of flaming sunshine!!

So I definitely to be finding positives!!

  1. Leg ache. I woke this morning with achey legs from running yesterday. I’ve not been for about 3 weeks which is long enough to make them ache from doing half an hour! Need to get back into it for my run end of the month!!
  2. Shop! Think I’ve decided on a shop name now! But need to work on a banner before I can open up! I’ve already had some sales from my facebook page though, the booties seem popular and I’ve had a couple of enquiries about blankets!
    Purple booties 3-6 months!
  3. Sunshine! It’s been warm the last couple of days and doesn’t it make a difference!! Felt really good now my eyelid infection has cleared up and my skin is ok for now! The children have been playing outside in the garden and planting over the weekend which has been lovely! 🙂
  4. Today. Went with my Mum and Dad to exchange some tops Mum had very kindly bought me that unfortunately didn’t fit! We had a coffee in Marks and Spencer, I had a cheeky scone with jam & clotted cream (probably double the calories I burnt off by running!!) then I popped to Homebase to use a voucher we’ve had since Christmas and get some wall paper and last bits we need to do the girls’ room! Let the decorating commence!
  5. Hanging basket. Before the school break a friend gave me a hanging basket, just because, so lovely 🙂 I’m determined to not kill it and even managed to water it this morning 🙂

It’s all in the name!

Feels like its been ages since I did a five things post, been busy crocheting! But not crocheting this evening as I’m so sleepy I’d probably fall asleep and take my eye out with the hook! So here’s a five things post to catch up a bit! This is my 100th post!!

  1. Sunshine! We’ve actually had some, warm (ish) sunshine! And it’s even Bank Holiday weekend! The rain is sure to show it’s face tomorrow in true traditional fashion but we shall be hitting the Bower nonetheless since the kids want to go and seemed to enjoy it last year! Back to today, it’s been a seeing family kinda day! Lots of playing outside with cousins, cake eating and tea drinking at my in-laws then to my folks for dinner and more playing outside with my brother and his family. We’ve come home with plants for the garden from my brother and Mum! Thanks!
  2. Earache be gone. Xander came out of school with earache on Friday which seemed a bit infected so I took him up to the minor injuries at local hospital last night and the nurse gave him antibiotics. I’m glad to say it seems much better today and isn’t causing him much pain although he’s still a bit deaf!
  3. Talking. Webby and I had a good chat last night about how I should stop worrying about my skin and what other people think about how it looks when its playing up. When its bad I withdraw a lot and try to hide it, especially when it’s on my face, I worry to much about people thinking I look awful! He talked some sense into me and so I’m trying to worry much less about it, as he pointed out, the fact I worry about that probably doesn’t help! He’s a gem ❤
  4. Haka! Webby learnt the Haka whilst on a course couple of weeks ago, and while he was on another course last week he was teaching it to some of the people he was on it with! So today he’s been teaching the kids and they loved it!! Millie has got all the moves but wants to learn the words too, Xander has got the face down to a T!
  5. Crochet. As I’ve mentioned I’ve picked up crocheting again! I decided to make a few bits to have in a ‘for sale‘ folder on my Facebook page! I’ve had orders for three pairs of booties and people enquiring about blankets and the VW print too 🙂 Considering opening an online shop, but need a name… the only one that’s popped into my head so far is ‘Yarn Over, Click’.. ‘yarn over’ being a crochet term and ‘click’ for the click of pressing button on a camera!
    9-12 months booties.
    newborn blue booties.
newborn raspberry snuggle and booties set.

Well, I am 30!

  1. Morning! Had a lovely morning – popped to town and had a chat with ladies in The Sewing Shop, and a lady I went to school with in the bead shop, didn’t know she worked there! Then went home and made more cakes – the ones I made the other day seemed to have been demolished (the cake fairies of course, I couldn’t possibly of eaten them all..)
  2. Afternoon tea. Was my turn to have the two friends I see weekly here, hence the cake making! They went down well 😀 Lovely afternoon was had!
  3. Twinkle twinkle. Violet has been opening and closing her hands when I sing twinkle twinkle, so cute! She does her little dancing jig too! Love her!
  4. Millie. She made my Dad and I laugh this afternoon. She found a grey hair on my head which she found highly amusing and went to tell my Dad who joked that it was them that were causing it! Millie said “Well she is 30!”

Was taking photos of Xander and me too 😀

  5. Crochet. Almost finished the bit of crochet I was doing – a baby comforter/snuggle, though ran out of white! Thinking I might try selling!

Giggles & chuckles!

I thought it might of been tricky to find five as we have had a lazy day today and not done a lot but actually it’s been easy!

1. Kisses. Violet’s been kissing me lots today. They’re a bit soggy but I don’t care one bit!

2. Giggles. We’ve had some giggles today! This morning we were all sat eating breakfast and Violet did a rather noisy trump! That alone was quite amusing but the fact she looked round as if to say “who did that?!” Or “where did that come from?!” made it more so!

3. Teaching. Gave Millie a crochet lesson today, teaching her single crochet at the moment. Lovely to be able to pass on a skill she’ll hopefully have her whole life!

4. My girls. I don't have a sister but I always wanted one! I think sisters have a different kind of bond to other siblings. We were watching Violet chuckling away at Millie earlier, Millie was crawling round the floor and Violet was really giggling at her! Warms my heart to see. I do hope they're close when they're older!

5. Take time to do nothing. It's important to have some you time, even if its just five minutes. I sat on one of the window seats here early this morning just looking out the window and pondering. The wind was up and doing its best to blow through the gaps in the sash windows, fishermen were coming and going in their little boats, seagulls floating on the breeze, white tips on the waves, and quiet me time. Bliss.

Bringing my cast iron pot back to life and other positive things!

Here are my five positive things for today!

  1. Holidays! As I was walking back from school this morning I started to think about today’s five.. My first one is definitely school holidays! No school runs for two weeks! We’re off to Wales tomorrow for a probably freeze-your-exremeties-right-off-cold break but it will be a break none the less! Maybe I should crochet myself some of these *snigger* I could make a matching little something for my husband.. Google ‘crochet willy warmer’ – they exist, I kid you not! Wonder how many more hits I’ll get for mentioning nipples and willies?! Anyway, am looking forward to family times, reading and a spot of crochet.
  2. Organisation. After my organisation fail yesterday with the Easter bonnet, I’m trying to make up for it today! I’ve cooked bolognese, chilli con carne (thank you again Hairy Bikers!) AND chicken cacciatore (I added peppers and some herbs to this recipe) to take away with us so there will be less cooking while we are there! I’ve ironed (a bit, see number 5!), washed, packed and shopped. Oh and dusted. Go me!
  3. Cast iron pot brought back to life.. after I thought I’d killed it with truly burnt on food! I found a tip online that suggested putting some washing detergent (powder) in it with some boiling water and leaving it to soak for an hour or so then scraping away the food. To my delight it worked! Woo hoo!
  4. Raspberry wars! Violet been blowing a whole load of raspberries today, it’s so very cute. We had a raspberry blowing war, she’s almost as good as me 😉
  5. My Mum. My Ma & Pa popped in today and as I’d got the ironing board out Mum took over and did the ironing for me! Thanks Ma 🙂 She also brought round some delicious home made biscuits, I’ll have to see if I can get the recipe!Biscuits!
